Because it’s always nice to learn about new tips and also because the simplest are often the best ... This video and these pictures were made for you.
Tip 1: For cold drinks any time
When you need a drink to cool off, hot water can have a horrible taste. Try filling your water bottles only ¼ full. That way, when you turn them on their side, the water stops just under the cap. Now you just put your bottles in the freezer and go about your business. When the water freezes, it will form an ice cube on the side of the bottle that will not block the opening. When you need a drink, just get it out of the freezer and fill it with your favorite drink. And there you have a cold drink on the go!
Tip 2: Easy-to-eat mango
Take a mango and try this little trick, after cutting both sides of the fruit. Hold one piece in your hand and gently cut some vertical and horizontal lines until it looks like a chessboard. Now take your two hands and push the skin in the opposite direction. You will see small, bite-size pieces that are ready to eat. You can use a spoon to scrape them, and pour them into a bowl. Or eat them directly from the skin. It's fast, easy, and won’t get stuck in your teeth.
Tip 3: Getting rid of ants
There is a natural and effective way to get rid of an invasive ant colony. Measure one cup of popcorn kernels, and then put them in a blender on high speed for about 30 seconds. You will get a batch of fresh cornmeal. Just make a few piles around ant trails and it will only be a matter of time before the ant problem disappears completely.
Tip 4: Eat a hamburger upside-down
The next time you eat a hamburger, try turning it upside-down. The top bun is almost twice as thick as the bottom, and it’s a lot more durable. So be smart, and eat your hamburger upside-down!
Tip 5: The covert hiding place for items at the beach
When you 're at the beach, reduce the chance of things getting stolen by making a covert container. Just take an old shampoo or sunscreen bottle and remove the top. Clean the inside and cut a hole in the top that’s just big enough to stash your valuable items inside. Now you can remove and replace the top as desired, and your items are perfectly concealed. Anyone who sees this will think it’s just a normal bottle and probably won’t be interested in stealing it.
Tip 6: A straw in the hole
Have you ever noticed that when you want to put a straw in a can of soda, the straw doesn’t want to stay in place? Try bending the tab toward the hole, and slide your straw in it. No more floating straw, because now it’s held in place!
Tip 7: Getting rid of fruit flies
It’s the season for fruit flies, so before they take over your kitchen, slice a few pieces of banana and mix them with your leftover mango peels. Find some small containers and add the fruit. Cover it with some plastic wrap and pierce a small hole in the middle of the top, just bigger than the fly. In just a few minutes, one fly will come and check things out, and soon his friends will follow. In only a matter of days, you can put an end to the party by sealing the hole with the lid.
Tip 8: Eating a popsicle the right way
Summer means popsicles, and kids as well as adults get sticky fingers when eating popsicles. Take a small paper cup and make a hole in the middle of it, the size of a popsicle stick. Now you just have to insert the popsicle stick and say good bye to sticky fingers. By the way, this trick works great with cupcake liners as well.
Tip 9: For well-organized condiments
You’ve probably been to a barbecue where condiments take up half the table. And the line to use them takes forever. The solution is simple, with a muffin pan. This way your condiments are easy to access and your lines will move along quickly. You’ll also increase your table space and there will be less to clean up afterwards.
Tip 10: An instant snack bowl
The next time you’re at a party and someone has bags of chips lying around, impress your friends by making them into snack bowls. You can fold the top edge inside the bag first, and then roll the corners of the base of the bag, pushing the chips up as you go.
