12 old movies the actors from The Avengers were in, but ones they would like to forget
The two Avengers movies were a huge success in film, making the main actors famous. However, all famous people went through some dark times before making it to the top.
Here’s a list of old movies that included some actors and actresses from The Avengers, but movies they would like to forget.
1. Johnny Be Good, with Robert Downey, Jr.
Arriving on screens in 1988, Johnny Be Good didn’t impress many people. The movie tells the story of a young football player trying to get into an elite college to guarantee himself a bright future. However, the story is very boring, and Robert Downey, Jr. wasn’t very good in it.
2. The Spirit, with Scarlett Johansson
The Spirit, released in 2008, didn’t leave a lasting impression on people. The story of a policeman who fights crime in Central City didn’t win unanimous support and did not contribute positively to Scarlett Johansson’s career. Her scene with Samuel L. Jackson in Nazi uniforms was highly controversial at the time the feature film was released.
3. Supernova, with James Spader
Supernova was produced in 2000 and tells the story of a group of astronauts traveling in space and finding themselves in a very delicate situation. The director decided to withdraw the film during production when he realized that it would have no success. James Spader plays the role of one of the astronauts who walks around naked throughout the movie.
4. Red Dawn, with Chris Hemsworth
Red Dawn was a remake of an earlier film released in 1984. It depicts the North Korean invasion of the US. It took about three years for the film to be released, and ended up being a rather poor performance. Chris Hemsworth disappointed audiences with his interpretation of his lines.
5. Twisted, with Samuel L. Jackson
Released in 2004, Twisted tells the story of a brilliant police detective involved in murder cases. A feature film filled with clichés and a performance by Samuel L. Jackson in the role of a very disappointing mentor. It was a movie that was quickly forgotten.
6. Very Good Girls, with Elizabeth Olsen
Released in 2013, Very Good Girls tells the story of two friends who want to lose their virginity, but they both fall in love with the same guy. It was a pathetic story with no interest that completely devalued the talents of the young actress. Fortunately, she didn’t play the main role in this very disappointing feature film.
7. The Perfect Score, with Chris Evans
Released in 2004, The Perfect Score tells the story of a group of 6 teenagers desperate to steal the questions to the SAT so they can get into good colleges. This movie is very predictable and we know how it will end before the film even starts. Chris Evans, who was 20 at the time, is not at all convincing in the role of a high school student.
8. The Dentist, with Mark Ruffalo
The Dentist is an American film released in 1996, which tells the story of a dentist known to be completely maniacal about hygiene, who is deceived by his wife. Fortunately, Mark Ruffalo only acts as a dental assistant and wasn’t a headliner in this movie that completely missed the mark.
9. National Lampoon’s Senior Trip, with Jeremy Renner
This comedy released in 1995 tells the story of a group of students who find themselves as part of an educational project of the President of the United States. It was a very disappointing movie that wasn’t even really funny. Jeremy Renner was 23 when it was filmed. In addition, comedy roles have never been his forte.
10. Exorcist: The Beginning, with Stellan Skarsgård
Arriving on screens in 2004, the movie tells the story of a collector who makes a strange and terrifying discovery while searching the ruins of a church, a Satanic entity. William Peter Blatty, author of the book The Exorcist published in 1973, said he was humbled by the mediocrity of this film. Stellan Skarsgård’s performance is bad and pulled down by a disappointing cast.
11. Priest, with Paul Bettany
The movie Priest, released in 2011, tells the story of a war between humans and vampires. Priest, a legendary veteran, decides to stop everything until he has to go rescue his niece. Paul Bettany tries to add some humor to the film with terrible dialogue and a performance that was well below audience expectations.
12. Chatroom, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson
Released in 2010, the movie didn’t win over audiences. It’s about five young internet users who try to solve their problems by talking to each other on the internet. A film that showed up a little too late on screens with a very poor performance by Aaron Taylor-Johnson should tossed onto the garbage heap of history.
