12 things you probably didn’t know about The Fast and the Furious
You don’t have to be a fan of street racing to watch any of the Fast and Furious movies. So it’s up to you to decide which things you never knew about them.
1. Michelle Rodriguez delayed casting the movie, because she didn’t think the actors were believable.
And she really didn’t think Paul Walker was believable in his role.
2. The film’s title comes from The Fast and the Furious movie released in 1954.
Although the 1954 movie has nothing to do with the one released in 2001, the rights to the name had to be acquired.
3. Racing Enthusiast Paul Walker himself has taken part in street racing in real life.
4. The 1970 Dodge Charger driven by Vin Diesel is the same model as the car from The Dukes of Hazzard.
5. After Paul Walker’s death, production considered using his brother if needed.
6. Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster were chosen for the film cast without even having their driver’s licenses.
7. In Fast and Furious 6, Brian O'Conner goes to prison using the alias “T. Bridges”, a name related to his co-stars.
This is a combination of Tyrese Gibson and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, the real names of his co-stars.
8. Mark Wahlberg, Eminem, and Christian Bale were considered for the role of Brian O'Conner before Paul Walker.
9. During the summer of 2012, Paul Walker tore his ACL and production was stopped.
10. The famous red RX-7 used in the first film had a roll cage that had to be removed because Vin Diesel was too big.
11. Fast and Furious 7 has been the most expensive film in the series with a cost of more than $140 million.
12. The huge drug lord mansion where Carter Verone lives in Fast and Furious 2 used to be owned by Sylvester Stalone.
