Some companies are ready to do pretty much anything to sell their products. They use marketing specialists to come up with ads to lure the customer in. And sometimes these ads are extremely misleading. They go beyond reality in order to fool the consumer.
Fortunately, the arrival of the internet allowed customers to call them out and share stories or photos that prove these dubious techniques. Here are just few of the many examples of companies that took their customers for fools. Let's hope this will spell the end of these marketing ploys!
1. Apparently the new 'double' Snickers is twice the size of the older single ones...
2. Not quite as biodegradeable as the name suggests
3. 100% juice, but with other ingredients too
4. A common ploy - make it look like that there's more chocolate than there really is
5. Normal vs XL size
6. When labels are used to hide the truth
7. Half chocolate, half "air"
8. Looks good on the outside, but that's about all
9. Big bags that weigh the same as small bags
10. Make a flyer look like a parking ticket so that you'll open it up
11. When you click the first "download" link, while the one you actually need is at the bottom of the page
12. Enriched with non-existant vitamins
