13 examples of wasteful packaging
Ever ordered or bought something only to be flabbergasted by the packaging? Bulky, unnecessary, environmentally harmful...
When it comes to deliveries, it's only normal that items are protected, particularly if they're breakable or need to be kept fresh. Likewise for foods, some of which need to be wrapped up for health and safety reasons. Problems, however, arise when sellers go overboard!
In a day and age when our planet is being suffocated by waste and marine life is being slowly wiped out due to tons of plastics ending up in our oceans, the following selection proves that a lot of companies need to become more eco-friendly when deciding if or how something should be wrapped.
If you're an eco-warrior, then you'll find the following examples particularly irritating!
1. Because Post-Its are fragile and need a huge box?
2. Why didn't they just use an envelope?
3. When a manufacturer uses unnecessary packaging so they can advertise their company
4. Talk about totally out of proportion!
5. When a company does try to limit the packaging, but then fails to protect the contents!
6. Bubble wrap protected with bubble wrap...
7. Seriously? Soda cans in plastic containers???
8. Why all the plastic? Apples stay fresh if the aisle's kept cool
9. Individually wrapped potatoes... Now we've seen it all
10. No, cucumbers don't need to be wrapped in plastic...
11. Same goes for egg plants!
12. Why wrap coconuts? Isn't the husk there for a reason?
13. No GMOs, organic... And wrapped in plastic!
