18 of the latest beauty trends that are taking the fashion world by storm
Sometimes we wonder just what's going on in the fashion and beauty world. Latest trends are continually flouted by ardent fashion bloggers who also like putting their creativity to the test. However, you'll have to agree that some looks are just plain crazy, if not downright dangerous! The lengths that some people will go to in their quest to achieve the latest look sometimes leaves us scratching our heads... What do you think? Real beauty-boosters or something straight out of 'IT'?
1. Feather eyebrows
Whether you go for a simple or peacock's feather, this latest trend is best if you have bushier eyebrows and is currently doing the rounds on Instagram. Drawn on using a gel and eyebrow pencils, it may be a fun look for a night on the town, but we're not sure how your boss will react if you turn up to work with feathery brows!
2. Eyebrow wigs
Eyebrow wigs have been trending since the bushy look took hold and they work well if using a pencil looks too fake. So don't waste money on a tattoo or extra make-up - these stick on brows look natural and stay in place for several days. A crazyish idea, but one that seems to do its job well!
3. Ear make-up
Make-up artists and fashion fans are clearly bored of just making up their faces and have moved onto something else - their ears! Ear make-up comes in various forms including sparkly versions. Our verdict? A bit too OTT for our tastes!
4. Lollipop Lips
If preventing your lipstick from smudging drives you crazy then you'll be pleased to know that lollipop lips is the latest look for women who want to 'perfect' their pout. It's also useful if you need to put your lippy on in the dark, are in a rush or can't find the right lip liner. Just don't be surprised if you hear people sniggering behind your back!
5. Unicorn hair
If you miss your 'My Little Pony' days, then step back in time with a unicorn hairstyle. It involves multi-colored pastel highlights that resemble a unicorn's main, but be warned that these dyes aren't permanent and will wash out over time.
6. Unicorn Nails
Yep, unicorns have also hit the nail world... There are loads of colors available, including glittery styles that you apply the same way as normal false nails.
7. Glossy Eyelids
This simple technique involves applying a shiny eyeshadow over your normal color. Just bear in mind that its greasy texture can make it bleed...
8. LED false eyelashes
Want to flash your way around town? Then invest in some LED lashes before you hit the dancefloor. They look like fun, but must be really uncomfortable to wear. And don't forget to take them off when you go to bed, so you can be sure of a good night's sleep!
9. Barbed wire or dragon-shaped eyebrows
Bushy eyebrows are still on trend and salons are continually coming up with new ways to shape our brows. By applying a bit of gel, you can go for a barbed wire effect or, if you're a Game of Thrones fan, then why not opt for a dragon-inspired look?
10. A Glitter Butt
Last summer's body must-have - a glittery butt. Obviously you'll need to wear a skimpy bikini as the idea is to cover your derrière with sparkles that are set with a gel or fixing spray. Perhaps not the best idea if you're planning to laze on a beach, but you'll certainly draw attention to yourself as you parade around town.
11. Squiggly lips
Another weird 2017 trend - squiggly lips that are based on a scallop shell design. The internet's plastered with squiggly lip photos, but we're not sure if this look is as kissable as we'd like!
12. Squiggly eyebrows
Keeping with squiggles, it's eyebrows next... So forget straight lines and scallop your way to this look!
13. Braided eyebrows
This looks painful, but if you love braiding your mane, why not give your eyebrows a go?
14. Reverse Eyeliner
No, your eyes are not playing tricks... Reverse eyeliner is apparently all the rage! Just put your eyeliner on using the same technique, but work in from the outside corner of your eyes.
15. Pompon Eyes and Nails
As any fashion blogger will tell you, pompoms are growing in popularity! But keep this one for photoshoots rather than anything practical...
16. Glitter Tears
This recently hit the catwalks: using glitter to produce fake, sparkly tears. A triangular design that looks like your make-up has run. The plus side? If you've just cried your eyes out, at least this will cover up any dark circles and bags!
17. Corset Braid Hair
A modern meets traditional look with braids held in place by corset laces.
18. High-waist Jeans
If you've got kids, you'll like this belly-hiding trend. If not, well it's just another trend that will one day fade so that your low-cut hipsters are once again back in style!
