Helping out others makes us feel good about ourselves, all in the knowledge that we've made someone else's life a little easier. Treating others how we like to be treated is a one way ticket to happiness and it doesn't matter if you come to the rescue of a close one or a stranger - or, indeed, an animal!
Here are 28 heart-warming acts of kindness that left us feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. They restore our faith in humanity, no matter how bleak life may seem!
1. The deer and the store
This cute little deer wandered into a store in Colorado. The owner gave her a snack. She went away, but then returned with her friends!
2. The seamstress
This lady repaired a torn bus seat on her way to work...
3. Tons of gifts!
This little girl was badly burned in a fire. Her family posted a request online asking people to send her a Christmas card to show her that she wasn't different from anyone else. These are the boxes of gifts that she received!

Matthew is 12 years old. The local postman noticed that he read all the junk mail and after asking him why, he learned that Matthew's parents didn't have enough money to buy books and he didn't have enough pocket money to take the bus to the nearest library.
The postman stated an online fundraiser and people as far afield as Australia, the UK and India began to send him books. So far he's received 350 books and has promised to read them all!
6. Alzheimer's and a healing touch
This man has early stage Alzheimer's and when his son came to stay at Christmas, he brought along his adorable dog. Dad and dog were inseparable throughout the holidays and when the time came to say goodbye to his son, he said "I'm going to forget lots of things in the future, but I'll remember this dog for a long time!"
7. A sentimental gift
This grandma served up Christmas lunch on these plastic plates for 30 years. By last Christmas only 7 remained, so she got them framed and gave one to each of her grandchildren!
8. Presents for a pooch
Someone left this basket of tennis balls in the garden of a refuge that rescues mistreated dogs!
9. What a true gentleman

10. Santa and coca cola
The father of this family bought dozens of bottles of Coca-Cola over the course of 3 months, just so that he could give his close ones a bottle that had their name!
11. Excess luggage
When she went to pick her niece at 10.30pm on Christmas Eve, this lady was approached by workers in the baggage hall. They told her that they'd found an abandoned kitten, but couldn't keep it. They showed her the kitten and the rest is history!
12. You're never too old for LEGO!
This man loved LEGO as a child, but never had enough money to buy a set. When his son found out, he bought him this kit for his 61st birthday!
13. A romantic sunset
This woman always wanted to visit Key West so she could admire the sunset. Her husband took her on a surprise trip to celebrate their 24th wedding anniversary!
14. A castle in the trees
This man made this tree house for his kids and even decorated it for Christmas!
15. The surrogate mother
This mom became a surrogate for a couple who'd been trying for a baby for 10 years. It was a difficult pregnancy, but she gave the couple the best Christmas present ever!
16. Customized gloves
This baby was born missing two fingers on one hand, so his mom had a special pair of customized gloves made!
17. A Christmas surprise
An unknown person gave this woman $200 so she could buy a tree and treat her kids to a great Christmas. As you can see it was gifts galore!
18. Social network power
A woman was talking about her mentally handicapped brother on social networks and mentioned how much he loves trucks. Within a few days she began to receive toy trucks to give to her much-loved sibling!
19. A brave favor
This homeless woman stopped a man from stealing a bike that she managed to return to its owner. By way of a thank you, the man invited her and her son to spend Christmas Day with him and his family.
20. For better or for worse
This dog was hit by a car and left for dead. Fortunately he pulled through despite multiple injuries and his 'best friend' spent all his time by the dog's side until the brave pooch could once again walk.

This lady works in a veterinary hospital and often saves pets that have been abandoned in front of the clinic's door.
22. A life-saving gift
The children in this family decided to give Christmas presents a miss so that the money could be used to save this cat from being put down.

This cop worked himself to the bone in order to help save victims affected by Hurricane Harvey...
24. A sporting challenge
This Kenyan runner gave this disabled, dehydrated Chinese man some water. In doing so she didn't win the race as expected, but was happy to miss out on the $8,200 prize money!
25. Best friends forever
This cop saved this puppy from a house fire and went on to adopt him!
26. Exemplary customer service
This waiter helped this disabled lady to eat her meal, so her husband could also eat his at the same time.
27. Successful surgery
These surgeons operated on a man who had several brain tumors. 32 hours later they were able to take a well-earned rest.
28. The firefighter and the cat
It was thanks to this oxygen mask that this firefighter managed to save this kitty's life!
