Plastics make up for a third of the waste that pollutes our planet. Plastics are expensive to manufacture and rarely recyclable, and recent headlines have been awash with photos of marine life that's slowly being killed off by the tons of plastic waste that now floats around our oceans and seas.
Some countries have started to react and have now banned single use plastic bags or kitchen utensils, but we've still got a long way to go if we're to clear up the mess we've made of our planet. More and more people are opting for eco-friendly options, even if it's more costly, but that doesn't mean some companies have stopped using plastics as their preferred choice of packaging.
