After she died from cancer, what her school friends did at her funeral is admirable!
At age 13, Laura Hilier learned that she was suffering from leukemia. This girl who fought for years was a brilliant student at Nelson High School in Ontario.
Unfortunately, she died on January 20, 2016, at the age of 18 years old.
Her family decided to pay tribute by passing the sad news to her friends and subscribers on Laura's Facebook page 'Hope for Laura'.
Her family wrote this message there: 'She fought bravely and all of you would have been so proud of her.' Her poise, her courage, her strength and her pure spirit shone through right until the end.'
Her funeral took place on January 30.
To pay tribute to Laura, her friends, family, and teachers decided to use brightly colored markers to write on her casket.
Laura was known for her love of music and theatre, and her favorite color was purple.
During the funeral, everything was done in purple, including the service, the flowers, and even the clothes of everyone who came.
Donations can be made on behalf of Laura to Coast to Coast, a non-profit organization that helps people with cancer.
Here are some photos of Laura and of the day of her funeral:
