An amazing teacher turns his classroom into Hogwarts!
Kyle Hubler is a 7th and 8th grade teacher at Evergreen Middle School in Hillsboro, Oregon. His amazing deed for the year? Over the course of 70 hours, he transformed his classroom into a spell-binding Hogwarts inspired wonderland – with a Sorting Hat included!
He didn't miss a detail and even prepared and sent every pupil an admissions letter!
In an interview he said “As a kid I remember my biggest dream was to go to Hogwarts someday, but I knew that I could never truly go there. When I became a teacher… I realized that I had the power to make my childhood wish come true.” It took him 70 hours, spread over a 5-week period! He bought and filled his classroom with Harry Potter related objects and added some prized pieces from his own collection. The idea came about when he learned that his class was going to be moved to a different room, so decided this was the perfect moment to add a magical touch to his teaching methods.
As a huge Harry Potter fan, Hubler explains how he wanted to inspire the kids under his charge. “I love Harry Potter because of the impact it had on me as a kid. Being a kid can be tough sometimes… and reading the books was a way to escape that and feel like I did belong.”
So what do you think? Time to change schools? Or maybe encourage your teachers to be inspirational!
