An electrician fixed her heater and she was in total shock when she got the bill...

Bridget Stevens, a mother of two, returned home one day and found that her house is awfully cold. In fact, it was 50 degrees Fahrenheit in the house.

Her husband was away, and the heater wasn’t working ... She didn’t know what to do.

She called Paul Betlyn, the electrician who was kind enough to answer her call instead of letting it go to voicemail.

First, he gave her some tips to try to get the heater to come back on, but nothing worked...

Understanding that Bridget wasn’t able to figure it out herself, Paul decided to go see the problem himself. He began to repair the heater, sympathizing with the lady and talking about all kinds of things. Bridget mentioned in passing that her husband was away, deployed overseas because he was in the military.

After finishing the repairs, Paul handed her the bill.

Bridget, who was nervous about how much it would cost, realized that she had to pay only one dollar. She then called her electrician to make sure it was right, and he told her that the dollar was only a joke. Understanding and generous, Paul Betlyn didn’t want any money. It was his way of showing his appreciation for the family of the man who was serving his country in the military.
