Here are 10 then and now photos and stories of kids who originally became famous for the ads and commercials in which they starred.

1. Kristina Pimenova

This young Russian girl became one of the best known child models in her country, having started her career at the tender age of 4. Kristina's now 11 and continues to model for major brands including Prada, Silvian Heach and Burberry… She's also starred in more than 20 commercials.

In 2014, she was voted the most beautiful girl in the world and in 2017, she made her first foray into film with the movie The Russian Bride.

2. Spencer Elden

It was after watching a documentary on water births that Nirvana's front man, Kurt Cobain, came up with the idea of shooting a series of photos of a baby swimming in a pool. He chose 4 month old Spencer Elden and paid his parents a $200 fee. The photo became the iconic cover for the band's classic Nevermind album. Spencer went on to recreate the shot a number of times - the last one in 2016, although he did keep his swimming shorts on!

3. Ann Turner

Do you remember the chubby, cute kid who featured on Gerber food labels? For years people thought her image was drawn from imagination, but in 1978 the identity behind the drawing was uncovered.

Ann Turner Cook was the daughter of an artist who asked his friend, Dorothy Hope, to draw a portrait of his daughter when she was 4 months old. He later sold it to Gerber. Ann grew up to be an English teacher and also wrote several detective novels. Now aged 90 she's enjoying her well-earned retirement!

4. Mackenzie Foy

This young millennial was born in LA and loved stealing the limelight as soon as she could walk - a fact that no doubt explains why she managed to land her first movie role when she was just 9 years old.

Twilight fans will no doubt recognize her as Renesmée Cullen, Edward and Bella's daughter, although she also played the daughter of the main character in the movie Interstellar.

5. Josh Bateson

Do you remember the old Kinder packaging? It featured a smiling young boy called Josh Bateson, who is now a 21 year-old Politics and International Relations student at Loughborough University. He never gave up modelling and now has an impressive 62,000 followers on Instagram!

6. Laneya Grace

This American cutie began her modelling career when she was only 3 years old. Her striking green eyes and flawless skin have meant that 10 years' later she's wowing the modelling world. She starred in Avicii's video for their single 'Wake Me Up' and recently signed a contract with Disney, who use her image on the packaging for their Maleficent Horns headbands.

7. Jade Weber

Jade Webber was born in 2005 in Hong Kong before moving to LA. She's since landed contracts with H & M, Forever 21, Someday by Petite Adele and Abercrombie & Fitch. She's also appeared in several music videos - not bad for a 12 year-old, who no doubt will continue to climb the modelling ladder.

8. Anastasia Bezrukova

This young Russian was born 2004 and by 2014 had become one of the most sought-after child models in Europe. She's worked for Benetton, Pinko, Moschino and Incanto, and has featured on the cover of Vogue Bambini. She's now 13 years old and has a promising career ahead of her.

9. Sharbat Gula

A stunning photo of a 12 year-old Afghan girl took the world by storm... It was snapped by a journalist called Steve McCurry who found Sharbat Gula in a refugee camp in Pakistan. When National Geographic published her photo in 1985, she was immediately baptized The Afghan Mona Lisa.

The photographer later went back to search for Sharbat and after 17 years finally found the green-eyed beauty. As a result, National Geographic published a second photo along with her life story.

10. Taylor Lautner

Lautner was only 16 when he was cast in Twilight. He's now 25 and still acts, although his recent roles have been in smaller budget movies and TV series.
