Here's how to make a shadow frame for the baby with all the memories from when he or she was born...
'Shadow boxes' or memory frames are wall frames that hold themed objects with a special meaning. For example, they may contain photos in uniform, medals and ranks to honor the memory of a family member who died in combat. It can be a collection of souvenir items relating to a person or a particular event (a baseball bat that belonged to a star player, for example).
A memory frame may also contain the clothing, accessories and objects that remind you of your baby's birth. Your child will also have fun looking at it when he or she grows up.
To make one, you'll need the following items:
- a deep frame
- your pregnancy test
- your ultrasound picture
- your birth announcement
- the baby's hospital bracelet
- the clamp that held the umbilical cord
- the baby's camisole or singlet
- the hospital baby bonnet
- the baby's first pair of socks
- his or her first initial made of cardboard or wood
- a barrette or headband if it's a girl
