One study proves that night owls who have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning are more intelligent than others... Explanation:
We have good news for all those who struggle to get up early in the morning. If you're a fan of sleeping in and the alarm clock is your worst enemy, we have good news for you: it's all good!
Scientific studies have shown that sleep largely affects the imagination, intelligence, and reflection. Being active at night contributes to your intellectual performance.
Researchers at the University of Madrid have studied the circadian rhythm, which is a biological rhythm that lasts around 24 hours. The most common is the sleep-wake rhythm. So there are two categories, but those who are part of the sleep-wake rhythm, meaning those who go to bed late and sleep in the morning, have higher intellectual performance.
Another study by the Department of Psychology at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan has confirmed this finding. In fact, the study shows that night owls have much more imagination and a different view of things.
Professor Marina Giampietro explains, 'Increasing situations that force you to get out of your habits encourages the development of an unconventional mind and the capacity to find alternatives and original solutions. And being awake at night and asleep during the day, well, that's anything but normal. So living this reverse way of life could improve some of our intrinsic skills.'
Thanks to these studies, you can finally tell your parents or friends that going to bed late and getting up late isn't a bad thing, quite the contrary!
