Police officer pulls over a vehicle with 5 old ladies on board for a reason that will make you smile!
This story was shared by NewsLink and is quite funny and surprising.
As he was standing on the side of a highway using a radar to enforce speed restrictions, the police officer saw a vehicle travelling at a low speed in the fast lane. The man decided to read the vehicle's speed, which the radar captured at 22km/hr.
Knowing that such a low speed puts other motorists in danger as much as exceeding the speed limit, he set out to pull over the vehicle, started the lights and sirens, and stopped the vehicle.
Once he had reached vehicle, he realized that the passengers and drivers were all ladies of a certain age. Upon closer inspection, he also noticed that their eyes were wide opened and that they were as white as ghosts. He did not dwell on it too long, and the driver almost immediately pulled over on the shoulder.
Not quite understanding why she had been stopped, the driver asked the police officer, 'Why did you pull me over? I was not speeding. I was travelling EXACTLY at the recommended speed.'
'Ma'am, you were not going over the speed limit, but you should know that driving below the recommended speed in a fast lane might be dangerous for other drivers around you.'
Still not understanding the offence, the lady replied, 'Driving below the speed limit? No, sir! I was driving at the recommended speed, 22 kilometers per hour! '
And that was the moment the police officer realized what had happened! 'Ma'am, the number 22 on the road sign is the highway number. Not the speed limit!'
Embarassed, the old lady apologized while thanking the police officer for pointing out her mistake. Right before leaving, the officer asked, 'Tell me, is everyone on board okay? Your passengers seem to be in shock and have not said a word since I have pulled you over?'
And before going on her way, the old lady answered, 'Don't worry about that... They will be better in a moment! It's that we just came off Route 180.'
