Ranking the 13 times “The Simpsons” predicted the future! Which ones are the most frightening predictions?
The “Simpsons” family has clearly left its mark on an entire generation and still has an international reputation today. However, many small details have been found in the show, and some of them are unusual or even rather intriguing.
1. The tiger attack
In 1993, Gunter and Ernst were attacked by a tiger during an episode of “The Simpsons”. 10 years later in 2003, the same story was repeated in Las Vegas.
2. The Yard Work Simulator
In an episode released in 1998, the children of Springfield played a game simulating yard work. 10 years later, in 2008, "FarmVille" took over social networks!
3. “Park Closed” signs
In an episode released in 2009, Lisa finds herself faced with a sign prohibiting entrance to a park following a police strike. The same signs were created in several national parks in the United States in 2013.
4. The restaurant in an airplane
The episode where Homer and Marge have a dinner date in a restaurant aboard an old airplane dates back to 1998. However, the first restaurant like it to open its doors was in Colorado and opened in 2002.
5. Stealing grease to make money
In an episode released in 1998, Homer decides to embark on a profitable business by recycling cooking grease. In 2013, an American was arrested by the police having for doing the exact same thing.
6. Radioactive Tomatoes
In an episode released in 1999, Homer spreads radioactive fertilizer on some tomatoes in his garden. The results strangely remind us of the tomatoes found after the Fukushima disaster in 2013.
7. An almost exact mathematical formula
The theory of the smallest particle in the world called a "Boson" originated for the first time in 1960. However, its chemical formula was only discovered in 2013. However, in an episode released in 1994, Homer wrote a formula that is strangely similar to the one discovered 19 years later.
8. President Donald Trump
16 years ago, the TV series had predicted that Trump would be president of the United States! And today, this prediction has come true!
9. September 11, 2001
In Season 1, episode 9, which appeared long before the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Lisa shows Bart a magazine cover that displays “9” (dollars) and the twin towers forming an “11”, or 9/11, the tragic day.
10. A fish with 3 eyes
The 3-eyed fish appeared on “The Simpsons” in 1990 and was eventually found in Argentina in 2011 near a nuclear power plant.
11. Rigged voting machines
Long before these machines appeared in real life, Homer had used one to vote in 2008, but unfortunately it was rigged. Four years later in 2012, these machines were controversial during the US general election by giving votes to Obama’s opponent, just like on the show...
12. Bloody advertising signs
In 1992, the Simpsons already had the idea of ??a billboard filled with blood to attract attention. We had to wait until the movie Kill Bill came out to see a billboard like that in real life in New Zealand in 2003.
13. The baby translator
In an episode released in 1992, Homer's half-brother invents a baby translator to help Marge understand what Lisa is saying. In 2012, 20 years later, Guigoz released a mobile app that lets you know what babies are saying.
