She offers free tattoos to cover up the scars from these big life injuries
They were attacked with knives, injured by bullets, or had mastectomies. The fate of these women having to wear these scars from their wounds moved Flavia Carvalho, who wanted to help in her own way.
This Brazilian tatto artist, who lives for her art in her studio in Curitiba (the capital of the state of Paraná in Southern Brazil), offers free tattoos to these women, to cover up the marks from their suffering, and she has been doing it for two years.
Her initiative even has a name: 'A Pele da Flor' ('Deeper than Skin')...
