She was forced to wear the vice principal’s jacket at her prom, because her dress was considered too provocative for her weight!
The end of the year prom usually leaves wonderful memories, but this doesn’t always happen for everyone.
As for Amy Stevenson, her prom will mainly be remembered as a huge humiliation.
She wore a beautiful low-cut dress that revealed her shoulders and she was excited to go to her prom, but the teachers didn’t see it that way; because of her curves, her cleavage, and shoulders showing, a teacher told her, "Us big girls gotta cover up.”
The girl could not enter her prom unless she covered up with the vice principal’s jacket.
Every year, many girls are sent home because of their outfits, and though we can understand when girls wear outfits worthy of a strip club, it's more hurtful when the girl’s weight is targeted!
This story is even worse when we think about how the teacher tried to comfort her, by saying “Us big girls gotta cover up.”
She only made the pain worse. Teachers should never impose such images to their students.
Here’s a picture of the dress in question!
Do you think it’s too provocative?
