She was only 13 years old when she disappeared! The truth about her disappearance should make all parents take notice! The internet can be a real nightmare...
Alicia Kozakiewicz is a young 28-year old woman, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She's getting ready to start her own family and complete her brilliant studies in forensic psychology. Although everything seems to be going great for Alicia, she still carries the wounds from her childhood and is fighting to ensure that other children don't go through what she experienced.

At age 13, she started to get interested on online games. Through these games on the internet, she got to know many gamers, but their conversations remained virtual. It was also on the internet that she started to establish a relationship with a boy who was supposedly the same age. Through these conversations, Alicia grew attached to the person.
On the evening of December 31, 2001, she was having New Year's Eve dinner with her family, but she left the table just before dessert, telling her mother that she didn't feel well and that she was going back to her room. She took the opportunity to leave the house. Her virtual boyfriend was waiting outside for their first in-person meeting. A meeting that turned into a tragedy...
All that Alicia remembers from that evening was finding herself trapped in a car driven by a man much older than her.
The man took her to Virginia, a 5-hour drive from her home in Pennsylvania. He locked her in a basement, chained her up, and tortured and abused her for 4 days. 4 days of hell for the poor girl, whose suffering was filmed and posted online by the horrible criminal. Another visitor to the child pornography website where the video was published recognized Alicia, and thus called the authorities, sending them a screenshot and the IP address of the abductor. So she was able to be saved.
A year later, she started her fight to educate the public about the dangers of the internet. Since then, she has regularly participated in school campaigns and has told about her painful ordeal. She created the group the Alicia Project to attract attention to this phenomenon. A law, Alicia's Law, also bears her name.
