8 celebrities who can thank genetics for their success

It's no coincidence that all of the women on the list below were influenced by their fathers, but their success comes from more than just genetics or nepotism. These 8 women have worked to justify their success. For sure, they remained in the same artistic field of showbiz as their dads, but they found their own way and created their own style.

1. Steven and Liv Tyler

Liv Tyler spent her early childhood thinking she was the daughter of Todd Rundgren (a rocker) and Bebe Buell (a playmate), but soon noticed that her half-sister (Mia Tyler, a plus-size clothing model) looked a lot like her. When she learned that Steven Tyler (the lead singer of Aerosmith) was also her father, she got to know him better and finally took his name. Since then, they’ve been inseparable. She may not have inherited his vocal talents, but she became an artist herself, and what a beautiful young lady. Genetics don’t lie...

2. John Voight and Angelina Jolie

The beautiful Angelina has always had a difficult relationship with her father, because after he left her mother, he forgot all about them and didn’t even pay child support. Angelina couldn’t forgive him and even once declared that she owes her passion for movies to her mother, not to her actor father, who has 4 Oscars to his credit. But since her separation from Brad Pitt, the actress has renewed ties with her father, at least for the children...

3. Paul and Stella McCartney

Because of her world-famous father, people knew about Stella McCartney long before she began her career as a designer. But she never went into music. Still, she’s an artist, like her father, and like him she excels in what she does, though not in the same field.

4. Don and Dakota Johnson

Dakota Johnson, the lead actress from Fifty Shades of Grey, was meant to be in movies: the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson (the star of “Miami Vice”), and also the granddaughter of Alfred Hitchcock's muse, Tippi Hedren, genetically the odds were in her favor to catch the acting bug. And if that wasn’t enough, her father-in-law was none other than Antonio Banderas.

5. Ozzy and Kelly Osbourne

Kelly has always been in tune with her crazy family (whom you can watch in “The Osbournes,” a reality TV show during her teenage years): a rock-n-roll life, crazy hair, an original look, drugs, and foul language. Like them, she found her way into the public eye, and at one time even made some records. But it seems that fashion is what attracts her the most. Perhaps that’s the influence of her godfather, none other than Elton John...

6. Henry and Jane Fonda

Despite the fact that her father's fame has never encouraged her to make movies, this is exactly how Jane Fonda has made a career (brilliantly), but she is truly fulfilled with activism and communication. When we talk about the influence of genetics, there’s a reason for it: his own son is also an actor...

7. Francis and Sophia Coppola

Sophia Coppola hasn’t had a lot of big hits like her father, (The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, etc.), but she certainly has talent, in a style that’s a little different than her legendary father. But she’s certainly been successful, since she won some awards (including an Oscar) for her first major film, Lost in Translation.

8. Kurt Russell and Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson has followed the same path as her parents, Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, but it’s mainly her happiness for which she thanks the man she calls her father (Russell is actually her step-father). She writes, "This is a man who made his family his number one priority his whole life... We felt the purity of that our whole childhood and my gratitude for his love is immeasurable.”
